WFR was called to a 3rd fire in 24 hour shift. This fire call came in just before 5 am for a fire in the wall at Terex- FGI manufacture plant at 2813 Piper Ave on Mar 20, 2018. Crews found heavy smoke coming from the building and quickly made entry and extinguished the fire in the wall and ceiling. The sprinkler system had activated and really was key in keeping the fire contained to a minimal area. Once crews had the fire extinguished, the sprinkler system was shut down. Smoke and water damage was extensive to entire building. There were some employees working at the time of the fire and they called it in to 911. No injuries reported as everyone was able to evacuate the building on their own. Crews were on scene about 2 hours and then turned back over to the owners. The cause is under investigation. WPD assisted WFR with the fire response.
