On 3/14/2018 at about 1100 AM, after an ongoing investigation into the alleged manufacturing of methamphetamine, the Watertown Police Department Detective Division and the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation executed a search warrant at 1303 10th Ave SW in Watertown, SD.
During the search, evidence of the manufacturing of methamphetamine was discovered.
Two adults and two children were residing in the home. As a result of the investigation 42 year John Everett West III was arrested and charged with the following crimes: Manufacture Controlled Drug, Child Abuse, Possession of Controlled Substance, Maintaining a place where Controlled Drug, kept, sold or used, Ingesting a Controlled Drug and Possession of Marijuana 2 oz or less.
West is currently being detained at the Codington County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash only bond. This is West’s second arrest for manufacturing a controlled substance since 2013. He was subsequently convicted of that charge in early 2014.
The children living in the home were provided with a care and treatment plan through the REACH Team.
