The Watertown Police Department has arrested and charged Donald Vincent Herron, 30 of Watertown with 1st Degree Manslaughter and Reckless discharge of a firearm. He is currently being held at the Codington County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond. The victim in this case has been identified as 30 year-old, Seth James Murray of Watertown. The shooting remains under investigation.

At 3:37am this morning (Friday) the Watertown Police Department and Paramedics were dispatched to an address in the 600 block 1st Avenue NW in Watertown after receiving a call from a male advising his roommate had been shot.  Officers arrived and made contact with the 30 year-old caller outside the residence.  Inside the residence officers located a 30 year-old male, whose identity is not yet released.  The victim had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head.  Detectives from the Watertown Police Department are currently on-scene along with agents from the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation.  The Watertown Police Department believes there is no threat to the public as a result of this incident.
