At 738am Watertown Fire Rescue was dispatched to a two vehicle accident near the intersection of Arrow Ave and 8th St NE. A vehicle had struck a parked car and caused damage that allowed fluids to be spilled on the roadway. There were no injuries reported. WFR crews cleaned up the debris and oil and the road was reopened to traffic in about 30 minutes. WFR, WPD and a local wrecker company were on scene.
At 1157am WFR was called to Kranzburg Ave and Hwy 212 in Kranzburg for a two vehicle accident. Crews arrived to find a car had rear-ended a vehicle on 212. The driver of the vehicle was trapped in the vehicle and rescue crews had to free her. The driver of the front vehicle which was a large truck sustained no injuries. The person in the car was transported to Prairie Lakes Hospital with serious injuries. WFR crews removed a large amount of oil and debris from the roadway. WFR, Codington County Sheriff Deputies, SD Highway Patrol and a local wrecker were on scene for nearly one hour before the roadway was cleared.
