Dr. Melanie Weiss of Watertown was apprehended after being observed unlawfully entering a home in northeast Watertown.
She was found in possession of prescription medication belonging to the homeowner as well as the garage door openers for the residence. This was part of an ongoing investigation regarding similar suspicious activity that has been reported over a period of time.
Dr. Weiss was arrested and a $10,000.00 cash or surety bond has been set.

2nd Degree Burglary is a Class 3 felony punishable by a maximum of 15 years in the State penitentiary and $30,000.00 fine.
Possession of a Schedule 1 or 2 controlled substance is a Class 5 felony punishable by a maximum of 5 years in the State Penitentiary and a $10,000.00 fine.
