When WFR arrived on scene there was a 4' by 4' deck that was fully engulfed. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before it was able to spread up the exterior of the structure or to the interior of the apartment. The deck was a total loss and there was some smoke damage to the interior of the residence. There was no reported injuries.

WFR would like to advise, that when extinguishing cigarettes to use a proper device to do so, preferably not made of plastic.
