[ARCHIVED] SOUTH BROADWAY STREET VACATION UPDATE

On March 7 City Council authorized the vacation of South Broadway Street from approximately 630 feet south of the southern Hwy 212 Right of Way Line (the southern edge of Hesco, Inc.) to the northern edge of the 10th Street South Right of Way line.

The vacation is part of railroad expansion which includes the construction of a multi-track loop south of Hwy 212. The project also includes construction work on the Big Sioux River Bridge.

Construction has advanced to the point the roadway must be closed for the safety of the public. As of Monday August 22, 2016 Construction crews will begin to install barricades and signage to close Broadway Street just north of the Big Sioux River Bridge. The road will be closed to all through traffic.

The road will remain open from the south via South 10th Street ONLY for deliveries and traffic intended for Hesco, Inc. / Dakota Organic Products at 1010 South Broadway. Please obey all traffic signs and barricades related to the road closure.

Please find alternate routes to access Broadway Street north of Hwy 212.

If you have questions please contact the Engineering Department at City Hall.
