[ARCHIVED] Watertown Fire Rescue Responds to Highway 212 Accident

Watertown Fire Rescue responded to Highway 212 and 54th St SW Monday morning, 8/15/16 at 8:39 AM for a 2 vehicle traffic accident.

WFR personnel arrived on scene to find a 2016 GMC Acadia had struck the right side of a tool freight truck. The Acadia sustained extensive damage to the front with front and side airbag deployment. The tool truck also sustained heavy damage and overturned onto the right side in south ditch of Highway 212.

WFR personnel initially used floor dry to absorb antifreeze and diesel fuel from a punctured fuel tank on the truck. WFR transported 3 people to Prairie Lakes Healthcare System with unknown injuries. WFR responded with 1 rescue unit and 2 ambulances and was assisted by personnel from the South Dakota Highway Patrol, Codington County Sheriffs Office and Performance Towing.
