The operator of the bicycle has been identified as Mr. Keith Synegard (DOB: 6/29/1953) of Watertown, SD. The investigation has revealed that Mr. Synegard lost control of his bicycle while traveling westbound on Willow Creek Drive. No motor vehicles or bicycles were involved in this accident. Alcohol appears to have been a factor. On July 5, 2016, Mr. Synegard died as result of injuries sustained during the accident.
On 7/3/2016 at approximately 10:46pm Watertown Police, and Watertown Paramedics responded to the 2600 block of Willow Creek Drive for a medical emergency. A 911 call was placed reporting a male had collapsed while riding his bike due to a medical condition.

Initial responding Officers and a passerby began CPR on the patient and was transported to Prairie Lakes Hospital in critical condition. He was later air lifted to Sioux Falls for further treatment.

The patient’s name is being withheld pending the notification of his family.
