Watertown Fire Rescue had a busy 4th of July as dry conditions persist.
WFR crews were called to mulitple fire throughout the 4th of July holiday.
At 7:54 p.m. crews responded to a small grass fire on 19th St and Arrow Avenue, witnesses found a small grass fire that was contained and burning in a open lot.
At 10:15 p.m. crews were called to a grass fire that was actually in Florence fire district, Florence fire department put the grass fire out and did not need the assistance of Watertown.
At 10:16 p.m. crews were called to a grass near 16790 Sioux Conifer Road, the fire was contained to approximately 1 acre, the cause of this fire was from fireworks.
At 1:00 a.m. on July 5th crews were called to 1710 11th Ave SW for a garbage can that was smoking. Upon arrival home owners state that someone came by and put some lit fireworks in their garbage can. The homeowner used a bucket of water to put out some smoldering garbage.
Watertown Fire Rescue would like to remind everyone that conditions are very dry and please be careful with any lit debris.
