[ARCHIVED] Snow Alert for December 5th, 2013

Listed below is the plowing schedule the Watertown Street Department will follow for Thursday, December 5th, 2013 in the City of Watertown:

Beginning at 3 am the uptown business district will be plowed then emergency snow routes will be re-plowed as needed.

Beginning at 8 am, avenues will be plowed.

In the City of Watertown, streets are plowed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday while avenues are plowed on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Emergency snow routes are subject to plowing any day of the week.

Parking on avenues or snow routes when they are scheduled to be plowed will result in a $40 fine (fine doubles to $80 if not paid in 3 days). Officers will do same day ticketing of vehicles blocking the snow plows from clearing the city avenues. If the obstructing vehicles remain on the avenue longer than 24 hours after being plowed around, it will be towed at the expense of the owner.

Watertown City Ordinance prohibits residents from blowing snow into the street or avenue from a driveway or sidewalk.

The Watertown Street and Police Department appreciate the cooperation and understanding of residents in removing cars to provide for effective snow removal on City
streets.
