[ARCHIVED] Watertown Fire Rescue responds to house fire

At approximately 2:00pm Watertown Fire Rescue responded to a house fire at 1020 4th Ave NW. Upon arrival crews found smoke coming from the roof of the structure. The family was at home at the time of the fire and they all made it out safely with no injuries. WFR made entry in to the structure and contained the fire to the attic area of the home. Crews remained on scene for approximately 1 1/2 hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation and at this time is undetermined. Crews not only battled the fire but extremely hot, humid, and windy conditions. No firefighters were injured. WFR wants to remind everyone to have a good fire escape plan in place and practice it regularly. Make sure your family knows 2 ways out of your house and they formulate a safe meeting area away from the house. This helps firefighters ensure all members are out and accounted for.
