On June 7th, 2016, The South Dakota Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Watertown Police Department executed a search warrant at a Watertown residence in the 10 block of 3rd St SE.
The search warrant was a result of an investigation into the possession and distribution of child pornography in Codington County.
Mr. Cole Taken of Watertown, SD, was arrested for Possession of Child Pornography. Taken was transported to the Codington County Detention Center and placed on a $5,000 cash/surety bond.
Possession of a Child Pornography is a Class 4 Felony which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment in the state penitentiary and/or a $20,000 fine.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
