On 05/06/2016 at approximately 1:03 pm Watertown Police responded to the area of the 100 Block of 13th Street NE for a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. An unlocked vehicle was entered and an AR-15 firearm was stolen from the vehicle.

Further investigation led to the arrest of two juvenile males from their residences in Watertown. The two juveniles were charged with grand theft, criminal entry of a motor vehicle, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The juveniles were taken to the Codington County Detention Center.

The Watertown Police Department would like to remind citizens to remove valuables from their unattended vehicles and to keep their vehicles locked to prevent theft of property.
