On 04/16/2016 at about 16:09 hrs the Watertown Police received a report of a male brandishing a handgun while driving northbound on SD HWY 20. Witnesses provided a description of the vehicle which was later determined to belong to 24 year-old Anthony Purintun from Watertown. Purintun was located a short time later and arrested for Aggravated Assault. A 45 caliber handgun was located in Purintun’s vehicle.

Purintun was detained at the Codington County Detention Center on a $5000.00 Cash or Surety bond. Aggravated Assault is a Class 3 felony punishable by up to 15 years in the penitentiary and a $30,000.00 fine.
