[ARCHIVED] Motor Vehicle Collision Sends One Person to Hospital

Motor Vehicle Collision at the intersection of S. Broadway and Hwy 212 sends one person to Prairie Lakes Hospital.

Received 911 tone for Motor Vehicle Collision at the intersection of South Broadway and Hwy 212 East. Upon arrival was a two vehicle collision with substantial damage to both vehicles.

A small car was believed to have ran the red light and was T-Boned on the passenger side by a pickup truck causing the car to be pinned up against the SE traffic light. The pickup truck was spun around in the opposite direction of travel and was narrowly missed by being hit head on by a pulling tandum trailers.

The driver of the semi was able to stop approximately 5 feet from the pickup. Air bags in both vehicles had deployed. Medic 3 crew transported 1 person to PLH with undisclosed injuries. Both vehicles were believed to be a total loss. Rescue 51 crew cleaned up debris and used floor dry to clean up leaking fluids from both vehicles. No other information is available.
