On 02/10/16 at approximately 5:26pm Watertown Police, and Watertown Fire Rescue responded to 1600 9th Ave. SE (Cenex Gas Station) in response to a vehicle crash involving a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Mr. Jason Madsen, age 40, of Watertown.

The Chevrolet was traveling westbound in the 1600 block of 9th Ave. SE. The Chevrolet traveled off the north side of the roadway. After leaving the roadway the Chevrolet struck a cable box, light pole, and a canopy support at the Cenex Gas Station. The Chevrolet came to a stop against the canopy support.

The Chevrolet is estimated to be a total loss. The vehicle crash is currently under investigation by the Watertown Police Department.

Mr. Jason Madsen was the sole occupant of the Chevrolet and was transported to Prairie Lakes Hospital by Watertown Fire Rescue with serious life threatening injuries. Alcohol appears to be a contributing factor in the motor vehicle crash.
