[ARCHIVED] WFR Extricates Accident Victim

WFR responded to a two vehicle accident Monday morning at the intersection of Airport Drive and Hwy 20.

Upon arrival, crews were presented with an individual who was trapped in their vehicle as a result of a T Bone type accident. WFR used hydraulic rescue equipment to extricate one of the patients involved in the accident.

The accident occurred at highway speeds. A south bound turning vehicle entered the east bound lane of Hwy 20 and was struck on it's passenger side. The vehicle that was hit on the passenger side happened to be a mail delivery vehicle, so the driver was actually located on that side of the vehicle.

Two patients were transported to PLH via WFR Ambulances. Seat belts were worn by both vehicle's occupants, as well as air safety bags being deployed. The crash remains under investigation by the Wtn Police Dept.

Please remember to always buckle up and drive carefully.

Cell phone use while driving is not safe, as it distracts drivers from their primary task of operating their vehicle safely. Thanks, WFR.
