Starting Wednesday morning on November 5th, 2025, the City of Watertown Public Works Department will begin work on a manhole and two concrete pavement sections at the intersection of Highway 81 and 4th St NE near the Gas n Goodies gas station.
The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of a damaged manhole frame and cover and two approximately 12-foot square concrete sections of the Highway 81 roadway. The work will require the closure of the center turning lane and the inside northbound lane of Highway 81 between Arrow Ave N and C Ave N.
The lane closures on Highway 81 will prohibit any left-hand turns to and from 4th St E and B Ave N. Please see the map of the closure for further clarification. We anticipate the closure and traffic control items will be removed by November 10th.
As with any road construction project, motorists should exercise caution and observe all traffic control devices in and around the construction areas. Residences and businesses within the area of the lane closures will remain accessible at all times.
