On October 23, 2025, Watertown Police Detectives arrested 53-year-old Jason A. Currey of Watertown following an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving a minor.
Currey was charged with:
• Two counts of Sexual Contact with a Child Less Than 16 Years of Age – Offender Five or More Years Older
• Sexual Exploitation of a Minor
• Solicitation of a Minor
Currey was booked into the Codington County Detention Center with a $25,000 cash bond.
The WPD remains committed to protecting children and investigating all reports of abuse. Anyone who suspects abuse or neglect is encouraged to contact law enforcement or the Department of Social Services.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
