Recent rainfall and illegal sump pump discharges are causing high flows at Watertown’s Wastewater Treatment Facility.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: Make sure your sump pump water is NOT being directed into the sanitary sewer.
Your sump pump should flow into your yard or another proper location. When sump pump water enters the sewer, it can overwhelm the system and cause backups in your home or your neighbor’s.
