[ARCHIVED] Mosquito Spraying - East Lake - July 16, 2025 at 9 pm - Unfavorable Weather

The adult mosquito population has been determined to be sufficient to trigger spraying in the following area of Watertown:

East Lake    East side of Lake Kampeska (from Kampeska Lodge to the Prairie Winds Golf Club) the Derby Downs neighborhood, and the Prairie Haven neighborhood.

Due to unfavorable weather conditions last night, spraying for mosquitoes in the East Lake section of Watertown was not conducted.  Weather conditions permitting, spraying for mosquitoes has been re-scheduled to after 9:00 p.m., Wednesday evening, on July 16, 2025.

Although the mosquito adulticide used by the mosquito control program is a fairly safe material, the following common sense measures should be followed when mosquito spraying becomes necessary in a neighborhood, as sensitivity to the adulticide may vary.

1.    If possible, remain indoors whenever spraying takes place.

2.    Keep children and pets indoors during spraying and for about an hour afterwards.

3.    Rinse homegrown fruits and vegetables thoroughly with water before cooking or eating.
