Just before 2:30pm on July 14th, WFR responded to the report of a car vs house accident. WFR responded with Engine 4 and Medic 4 crews. Once on scene it was found that a gray Dodge pick-up had run into the corner of the residential home at 516 6th Ave. SE. WFR and Watertown Municipal Utilities ensured no gas or electric lines had been damaged and were causing a hazardous scene. The damage to the house was assessed and determined to be stable with minimal deflection of the wall and foundation. It was also noted that a black mid-size SUV had been in the driveway next to this residence and had gone through a closed roll up garage door knocking it off its tracks and pushing it to the back of the garage. It appeared that SUV had knocked a push lawn mower upside down and it was actively leaking gasoline, and it was up righted by Engine 4 crew. Medic 4 crews assessed all parties involved and no transport was deemed necessary. The cause of this is under investigation. WFR was on scene for just under 20 minutes. WFR was assisted on scene by Watertown Municipal Utilities and the Watertown Police Department.
