On Sunday, March 2nd, 2025, at approximately 10:57 PM, the Watertown Police Department responded to a report of a hit-and-run accident in the 500 BLK of 4th ST SE. The WPD received 911 calls regarding a red pickup colliding with multiple parked vehicles and fleeing the scene. The red pickup was northbound on 4th ST SE and collided with two parked vehicles on the east side of the road. The pickup that fled the scene sustained heavy front passenger-side damage, disabling the front passenger-side tire. The disabled tire left marks in the roadway as it drove away.
A witness followed the tracks that led to a residence in the Northeast part of Watertown. Watertown Officers located the suspected vehicle and the driver. The suspected vehicle was a 2012 red Chevrolet Silverado that was driven by a 20-year-old male from Watertown. After the investigation was over, the driver was arrested for DUI 1st, Leaving the Accident Scene, and Open Container in a motor vehicle. The red Chevy pickup sustained approximately $8000 in damage and was towed. The two parked vehicles were a 1999 Blue Chevy Silverado and a 2004 Grey Dodge Ram. Both vehicles sustained approximately $2000 in damage.
The Watertown Police Department was assisted by Active Towing. The WPD would like to thank the multiple witnesses who called in immediately, leading to the location and arrest of the suspected driver.
