[ARCHIVED] Bramble Park Zoo Shares the Passing of Titan the Wolf

Titan, the last wolf at Bramble Park Zoo and a beloved icon to many has passed away peacefully in his sleep. At 12 years old, Titan lived well beyond the average life expectancy of 6-8 years for wolves in the wild, a testament to the exceptional care he received at the zoo.

Titan’s charisma and leadership left a lasting impression on all who met him. Known for his role as the pack’s protector, he could often be found on the hill in his habitat. Guests and staff enjoyed watching him run alongside his caretakers, bounding playfully as they approached and engaging in training sessions. His favorite enrichment was shredding boxes, especially boxes with bones inside them.

Titan was not just a beloved member of the zoo family; he was also an incredible ambassador for his species. He helped foster an appreciation for the essential role wolves play in their ecosystems.

“I’ve cared for the wolves my entire time at the zoo and grew very close with Titan over the years,” said Zookeeper Olivia Wulff. “He was loved by so many, and his impact will carry on as we work toward creating a new space for future wolves to call home.”

Titan played a pivotal role in shaping the future of Bramble Park Zoo’s wolf habitat. Plans for a new and improved wolf habitat are currently under review, and the zoo hopes to take them to bid soon.  Titan’s memory will live on through this space, ensuring his legacy continues.

For those moved by Titan’s story, we encourage donations to support the new wolf habitat project. Your contributions will help create a thriving environment for the next wolves to call Bramble Park Zoo their home. Donations can be made at www.brambleparkzoo.com. Thank you for your continued support in this transition as we continue to provide the best care possible for our animals.
