Effective February 1, 2025, the City of Watertown will begin charging a 3.5% user fee on payments made by credit or debit cards. This fee will apply to transactions at the following locations:
- Solid Waste Division (Landfill)
- Police Department
- Library
- City Hall

Why the Change?
While this fee is new, and shown as a separate charge, it is a common processing fee that most vendors charge for card transactions, oftentimes included in the pricing of their goods or services. The fee is being added to help cover the costs of processing credit and debit card payments. The City of Watertown would like to thank you for your understanding.
