Watertown, SD – November 22, 2024 – Watertown Fire Rescue (WFR) responded to a two-vehicle accident this morning at approximately 11:50 AM at the intersection of 463rd Avenue and 170th Street in Codington County.
The accident involved an SUV and a pickup truck. The SUV suffered significant front-end damage, including airbag deployment, while the pickup truck sustained damage to its rear end. Both vehicles were located off the roadway in the west side ditch of 463rd Avenue, and minor debris was cleared from the scene.
WFR Paramedics assessed the driver of the SUV, who declined transport and did not appear to suffer any significant injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured.
The Codington County Sheriff's Department was on the scene assisting with traffic control, and Performance Towing was called to remove the vehicles from the area.
At this time, the scene has been cleared and traffic flow has resumed normally.
