Watertown Fire Rescue had an interesting visit at the station which turned into an unique call for the firefighters. Saturday afternoon WFR Station #1 had a resident stop by stating his key did not work in the deadbolt securing his home. His teenage son was inside the apartment and was also unable to make the lock work. WFR responded with their Ladder truck, used a 35 foot extension ladder to climb onto the balcony of the third floor apartment. Once inside the firefighters were able to disassemble the lock and allow the door to be opened. No damage was done and the lock was reassembled for the home occupant. It was a little excitement for the other residents of the apartment complex seeing firefighters climb up the outside of their building and some great reinforcement of training that the firefighters do for emergencies.
