Patrol Division

Patrol Squad Our uniformed patrol officers are divided into four squads, with each squad working 12-hour shifts for 24-hour per day coverage. Each squad is supervised by a Sergeant who reports to the Assistant Chief. A Corporal also serves as an additional first-line supervisor on each squad. The patrol squads are the most visible of our police services. They respond to, and conduct preliminary investigations into a variety of calls including traffic crashes, thefts & burglaries, medical emergencies, disturbances, and assaults.

In addition to responding to calls for service, the patrol officers are very active in providing a variety of presentations to school and community groups.

The Patrol Division utilizes nine marked patrol cars, one motorcycle, and five bicycles. Each of the patrol cars are identically equipped with all of the equipment necessary for an officer to perform his/her duties.
