Wastewater, a Division of Public Works is responsible for the collection and treatment of wastewater generated by residential, commercial, and industrial dischargers before final discharge to the Big Sioux River according to the conditions of the city's South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources (SDDANR) Surface Water Discharge Permit. The Wastewater Division consists of the collections, operations, laboratory, and industrial pretreatment subdivisions.
