WFR Called to Barn Fire

WFR was called to a barn on fire at 17638 453 Ave, which is approximately 4 miles south of town.

The call came in just after 330 pm and crew arrived to an old wooden barn fully engulfed in flames. Crews were able to protect surrounding buildings and then extinguished the fire. They were on scene about 2 hours. No livestock was lost. The cause of the ...Read on...

Watertown Fire Rescue Responded to Smoke Coming from a Garage Wall

Watertown Fire Rescue was called for smoke coming from a garage wall.

WFR Responds to a Vehicle Roll Over

Watertown Fire Rescue responded at 1316 to 173rd St near the intersection of 458th Ave for a one vehicle roll over.

2017 Street Asphalt Mill & Overlay Phase I

The Watertown Street Department will begin phase I of street milling and asphalt overlay on Thursday, June 22nd, 2017.

WFR Responds to Possible Car Fire

WFR was called to 420 20th Ave SE at 7:30 am for a vehicle that may be on fire. Upon arrival they found a pickup truck with old carpet and construction debris that was smoldering in the pickup bed.

Bystanders used a extinguisher to knock down flames prior to the arrival of the fire truck. WFR removed all debris and used water to insure the fire was out. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

WFR promotes Firefighter Matt Schell to Lieutenant

Watertown Fire Rescue would like to congratulate Firefighter Matt Schell as he has been promoted to Fire Lieutenant.

Matt has been with WFR since December 2003. Matt is married to his wife Ann and has 5 children: Tyler, Ryann, Braylon, Ryder, and Logan. Matt will assume responsibilities at Lieutenant on C-Shift July 1st, 2017.

WFR received multiple calls for service after a strong thunderstorm moved through the area.

The Engineering Department regulates land disturbing activities by requiring permits for Excavation, Floodplain, Grading, Sidewalk-Approach-Curb/Gutter & Street Cut. They also require a "Permit to Place Building Materials on Streets".
