WFR responds to possible structure fire.

WFR responded to 110 8th Ave SE for report of smoke in the building. Upon arrival found one of the businesses in a multi-use building to have smoke inside. Because there was no knox box on the building WFR was not able to search the entire building initially. Once access was made into all of the businesses in the building, a chair that had oily rags that had spontaneously combusted was located and extinguished. Fortunately, the fire was contained to the chair and there was no other damage. WFR would like to remind people to make sure to use approved containers to store things like rags that have been used with flammable liquids like wood stains and oils. WFR would also like to remind building owners to contact WFR to arrange for a knox box to be installed on the outside of their building. This allows WFR to access a building without causing unnecessary damage and destruction.
