Tire Fire Extinguished

WFR received call via private line for a person burning tires in the area of the new bus barn. WFR upon arrival found the fire to be at 2309 26th Ave NE. The occupant had been cleaning up the farm area and had started a fire that included many tires. Because of this location being 1 mile within the city limits and there were tires in the fire - WFR fire crew extinguished the fire. The WFR would like to remind the public that NO controlled burns are allowed within  1 mile from city  limits WITHOUT a burn permit from the fire inspector and  - NO burning of tires are permitted at any time.
